Pastor Derek McNair

Rev. Derek D. McNair was born in Washington, DC to Minister Glindia McNair Harper. He is married to the former Aleasia Jenkins from Cerro Gordo, NC.He has completed training in Ministerial Ethics, Homiletics, Evangelism, Old Testament, New Testament, Visitation of the Sick, Working Through Grief, and Marriage studies. At an early age, Rev. McNair accepted Christ, was baptized, and became a member of Greenville Missionary  Baptist Church in Lumberton, NC.  While serving at Greenville Missionary Baptist Church, he served in the capacity of Deacon, Vice President of the Gospel Choir, Youth Teacher of Vacation Bible School, Usher, and an Advisor of the Youth Department. He was an active member of the Lumber River Baptist Association where he served as a Field Representative, and an active member of the Lumber River Ministerial Alliance. Rev. McNair was the Vice President of the True Believers Prayer Band of Lumberton, NC, which is a ministry of helps. There he founded and organized, under the leadership 

of Pastor Elle Baker, annual city wide Gospel Festival in Luther Britt Park. These Gospel Festivals transcended racial and denominational boundaries to draw community and the body of Christ together.All the proceeds were used to aid needy families. While a member of Greenville Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Derek McNair was called by God under the leadership and guidance of Pastor Rev. David Lewis. He humbly accepted the call to preach the Gospel and have proclaimed that Jesus is Lord from the streets to the pulpit. In August 2002, God called him to continue his ministry, by assisting New Beginnings Outreach Ministry in Durham, NC – a ministry that reached out to the needs of the homeless, unemployed, and less fortunate, by providing food, clothing, and creating job opportunities.After relocating to Raleigh, NC, in September 2002 God called Rev. McNair to serve under the leadershipand guidance of Pastor Rev. Bruce Hurst at Miles Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Mebane, NC. When God called Pastor Hurst to Leach Spring Missionary Baptist Church in Raeford, NC he Instructed Rev. McNair to join Pastor Hurst and to continue his servitude at Leach Spring Missionary Baptist Church.. He served there as a Minister to the young adults, coordinator of activities for the youth of the church, organized a ministry of armor bearers (ministry of service to aid the Pastor). He served also  as Chaplain on the Pastor’s Aid Committee, and served and assisted the Pastor in pastoral obligations. In 2015, God called Rev. McNair to the office as a pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church where his greatest joy is being fulfilled preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and serving the masses.
